Accessibility Statement for Lion Homes
This accessibility statement applies to the Lion Homes website - www.lion-homes.co.uk.
This website is run by Lion Homes (Norwich). We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
- zoom in up to 200% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
- We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility
Lion Homes (Norwich) is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
Some images and PDFs do not have a suitable text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content).
There is insufficient contrast between text and the background in multiple places, so people may find the website hard to read. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criteria 1.4.2 (contrast (minimum)).
Text cannot be resized to 200% as on some screen sizes it spills over and overlaps other content, making it unreadable. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.4.4 (resize text).
PDFs on the website are scanned documents and are therefore made up of a single image, and the text contained within them is part of this image. They do not have descriptive titles, are not tagged, and do not have a language specified. All these things make them very difficult for users who rely on screen readers. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criteria 1.3.1 (info and relationships), 2.4.2 (page titled), and 3.1.1 (language of page).
There is no bypass block ("skip to content") or clear focus styles, this makes it difficult to navigate for people using their keyboard to navigate and for those using screen readers. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criteria 2.4.1 (bypass blocks) and 2.4.7 (focus visible).
The website only offers one method of finding pages. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.4.5 (multiple ways).
Some elements on pages have inconsistent behaviours which could cause confusion. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 3.3.1 (consistent identification).
What we’re doing to improve accessibility
We are in the early stages of an accessibility review and plan to address all the non-compliances in 2024.
